Derbyshire Blue John Bracelets
Blue John is a rare mineral, a form of Fluor-Spar which displays a beautiful rainbow of colours.
Various shades of blues, purples and yellows are all found, lending a uniqueness to every piece of jewellery. Our Blue John is sourced from the historic mines of Castleton, Peak District, the only place on Earth that it has ever been found. Deep within the limestone, the Blue John is present in the form of veins and nodules. It is carefully mined by hand in order to preserve the structure and bands of colour within it. First found by the Romans, this gemstone is now a modern classic. It pairs very well with Whitby Jet so we often combine the two stones within our jewellery to create a stunning colour contrast.
