Rhodochrosite is a manganese carbonate mineral that is found only in a few places on Earth.

This stunning natural gemstone is mainly found in North and South America and has been mined for hundreds of years in Argentina where the Incas made beautiful carvings with it. It is often discovered alongside silver within the Earth's crust. It can range in colour from pink to red to brown and has an attractive banding within it. We love combining the pink type with Whitby Jet for a stunning colour contrast.
